Mancala is one of the oldest known games to still be widely played today. It has been played in Asia, Africa and Europe for hundreds of years. Some historians believe that Mancala is the oldest game in the world based on archaeological evidence found in Jordan that dates around 6000 BCE.

The word mancala (منقلة) comes from the Arabic word naqala (نقلة) meaning literally "to move". No one game exists with the name mancala; the name is a classification or type of game. This version is called Kalah, imported to the United States by William Julius Champion, Jr. in 1940. (Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mancala)

The game provides a Kalah board and a number of seeds or bead counters. The board has 6 small pits on each side, and a big pit, called a base, at each end. The object of the game is to have the most seeds in your base at the end of play.
